FarmFresh

FarmFresh is a stand-alone, solar-powered walk-in cold room for 24/7 off-grid storage and preservation of fruits, vegetables and other perishable food. It is meant for all farmers, food processors and handlers in developing countries, to extend the freshness of perishable food from 2 days to 30 days, using adjustable cooling temperature, that can go as a low as 1 degree Celsius.  FarmFresh solves the problem of post harvest losses of perishable food which is affecting 470 million farmers and food supply chain actors in developing countries. These people according to the Rockefeller Foundation, losses an average of 45% of vegetables harvest, 35% of fruits harvest and 15% of their income to spoilage every year. Losses in perishable food in developing countries is caused by the absence of suitable, well designed on-farm and off-farm, post-harvest storage facilities and unreliable electricity supply in developing countries.
